"WTF" "Just WT, no F" AND "2 Much OS&D"
These paintings were accomplished by the goodness and understanding of Tom Baeten over a period of a year and a half.  Tom was the FedEx Freight Terminal Manager, Sacramento Terminal.  He understood an artists' need to work and create within the environment rather than working from photographs.
----- I had an idea about two years ago that because I hadn't seen the freight industry represented in contemporary art as the old masters painted workers in their time. why couldn't I, I do know the freight industry as  Tiger and I have been in and around the transportation industry for longer than I can remember.
-----  Tiger was/is working at FedEx and I would visit him.  One day I asked Tom if I couldn't come into the terminal and paint.  I promised I wouldn't cause a work stoppage because I don't like to talk to anyone anyway when I'm focused on my studies.  He asked where I would set up and I said on the dock in a little corner right outside his window - I don't need much room, and I would remain behind the yellow line because those are the rules.
----- Tom didn't even hesitate - no problem.  I am so grateful - if you ever see this Tom, thank you.
----- A long story very short, Tom was let go from FedEx after 27 years, and in the infinite wisdom of the Corporate world a man was hired to replace him from Louisana.---- After an 'allow the new Terminal Manager  a get  oriented' period, I went into the terminal and personally sat down with him and asked for permission to continue my studies.  I gave him my email address, thanked him, he said he would get back with me via email.
-----UNBELIEVEABLY, four days later he told my husband that he didn't want to appear partial.  If he allowed me to SOLICIT (very poor choice of words) he would have to allow everyone else too.
----- Smile and Trust me - I do not solicit.  People come to me to learn about art.  Click here 2 C my humble lifetime of credentials if you do not know me.

"Just WT, no F" Wayne, and Tiger walking toward the office mid winter. I was set up outside the Terminal Manager's office and it was freezing to get the sketch. I thought the sketch was awful until I got it home - doesn't look so bad - will be better when finished.   Sketch was done with sepia crayon and the with a wash using 1/4 flat and 1 inch wash brush on Fabriano Artistico, 300# Cold Press.

"2 much OS&D"  Forklift driver is putting away forklifts at end of shift behind OS&D freight.  Early spring.  Was nice, but the fumes started to get to me.  Sketch was done with a 1/4 flat and 1 inch wash brush, then back into it with #12 W&N Series 7 round  on Fabriano Artistico, 300# Cold Press.
